Mrs. Hamden - Social Worker
Hello! My name is Mrs. Hamden and I serve special education students who have an IEP. I also service general education students on an as needed basis and work with all students in crisis situations.
I graduated from East Detroit High School and went on to study at Alma College receiving my Bachelor's in Social Work. I then attended Wayne State University for my Master's in Social Work. I always knew I wanted to work with kids in some way. A close family friend was a social worker and I always thought his job sounded interesting; these things led me to the position I now hold! My first job ever was at the McDonald's in Eastpointe. Before landing the job I currently hold at East Detroit School, I worked at a runaway shelter in Detroit, in a hospital wing that housed mentally impaired youth, and at a group home for emotionally impaired youth. Outside of my job here at EDHS, I have 3 children with my husband who is a Middle School Principal. Our son graduated from MSU and has applied to Law School. Our middle daughter is a freshman at MSU. Our youngest daughter is a senior in High School. We enjoy spending time at our cottage, traveling, reading and sports. I can be reached at (586) 533-3700 ext. 36455 or at [email protected] |
