Ms. Marchese - 9th Grade Success Academy Counselor
Hi! My name is Kim Marchese and I am the 9th Grade Success Academy Counselor. I serve all 9th grade general education students.
I graduated from Romeo High School and then attended Western Michigan University. I graduated from WMU in 2010 with my Bachelor's in Psychology. After graduating I moved back home to my parents and was accepted into Oakland University where I completed my Master's in Counseling with a specialization in School Counseling. Since high school, I knew that I wanted to work with children and teenagers in the school setting. I originally began in the early elementary education program at WMU; after 3 years in the program I met a fellow school counselor who inspired me to pursue this field! Before becoming a school counselor, I worked as a pre-school teacher working with 2 1/2 year olds; I have also worked for a crisis and suicide prevention hotline. While in school for my master's degree I held a job as a nanny and have interned as a middle school counselor. I have been with East Detroit High School since March 2014! In my spare time, I spend lots of time with family and friends. I also enjoy photography! I can be reached at (586) 533-3702 or [email protected] |
